Next up on the list of comics I read: The world of Higal. I must note that this comment is very unique in many many ways. This is another comic that I have been reading on a long-term basis (About almost 2 years now :3) and I was instantly able to see the many improvements of this comic as the months passed.

About the author/Illustrator

The writer and Artist of The world of Higal, is a user by the name of popenfresh, who happens to be a regular on the site known as Drunkduck.com. He’s a nice guy (very handsome I must add ^^) and he is a very talented webcomic creator. I wish I could say more about him, but I don’t know him from anywhere else but there :3.

About the Story

The world of Higal is a fantasy genre/role play like comic that takes place in a world-known as Higal! The main character of the story is a goofy and somewhat naive barbarian named Donzo (I love Donzo xD) who meets an unknown and knowledgeable traveler (Embler) Who gives him a little insight on his life and experience. Embler is a really old guy (like in his hundreds!).

Eventually in the story, Embler introduces Donzo to a group of people he would probably consider as family :3 Thompson, Ydrem and Lucretia. As they begin their travels with Donzo, they begin to learn and grow with him, and hopefully, eventually, Donzo will be considered part of their ‘little family’ :3.

My take

When I say the comic is RPG-esque, I mean there’s maps! Like real world maps that show where the characters can go in the story! That’s kind of what drew me in to the comic in the first place, because it reminded me of old-school rpgs, like the old warcraft games. Idk, it just kinda reminds me of it :3.

Also, the comic previously had gone from a black and white comic to a fully colored comic, which to me, is really awesome . If you read the entire comic, you can literally see how popenfresh’s art improves drastically . It’s cool *^^*. In my opinion, The World of Higal is one of the most strongly improved comics I have ever read :3. And what I love most about the story is it is a balance between comedy and action :3. There is some pretty funny things in the comic that really made my day when I read them ^^.
